Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives.  The goal of Junior Achievement is to be an experiential resource for every teacher and every child.

Opportunity Specifics
All lessons are taught once a week to a middle school or high school classroom. Opportunities range from 6-15 lessons per topic.  All interns will remain with the same classroom for the duration of the lesson topic.  Interns are also allowed to select more than one opportunity, to teach more than one classroom in the same school, and to teach at more than one school. All lessons are at least 45 minutes and are taught solely by the teachHouston intern.  Classroom teachers are asked to remain in the classroom to help monitor.
Opportunities extend throughout the Greater Houston Area. Once an opportunity is chosen, interns will be contacted by a Junior Achievement representative with a list of schools that are in need of that particular topic.  At that time, exact locations will then be selected. If at least ten teachHouston interns sign up for one of these opportunities, Junior Achievement has agreed to conduct training on University of Houston’s campus. If less than ten interns sign up for one of these opportunities, training will be conducted at 2115 E. Governors Circle, Houston, TX 77092, Junior Achievement’s main office.
